Trip to Walhalla Fish Hatchery
Den 6 and a visitor from Pack 833 spent a Saturday at the Walhalla Fish Hatchery learning how trout are raised for area lakes and streams, and hiking over four miles. The day started rainy and cloudy when we gathered at Advent United Methodist Church. It was clear and cool by the time we arrive at the hatchery two hour later.
We started with a tour of the facilities, seeing trout in all stages of their life. Then, we went on a hike on the East Fork trail. Along the hike we talked about the different layers of the forest, identified different trees and shurbs and talked about how people an animals use the different trees and shrubs. Check out our photo gallery to see all the fun things that we did.
