2009 Simpsonville Christmas Parade

            Date:   December 6, 2009

            Theme: I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas

            Time: 2:30 p.m. - Float set up (see below)

3:00 p.m. – All Scouts and parents in parade line- Position #9

3:30 p.m. - Parade starts

Where:

Park at Simpsonville-Hendricks Branch of the Greenville Library

                        626 NE Main Street

Simpsonville, SC 29681

(Go to parade position # 9)

End of the parade: Our float will park at the Sportsclub Simpsonville parking lot.  We are not allowed to stop earlier to let Scouts or parents off the float.

What to Wear:

·         Scout and Leader Uniforms (with appropriate attire for cold/wet weather)

·         Comfortable walking shoes.  Some parents/Scouts will need to walk.

·         Winter hat and scarf to match theme

            What to Bring to match the theme:

·         Snow shovel

·         Sled (wagon to put it on)

·         Snow Skis

·         Candy to hand out

Things we still need (please call Michael Budd if you have one of these items):

·         Yard decoration- “Snowman in a Globe”

·         Snow Cone machine

Float Preparation:

·         We will have a pick-up truck and trailer to decorate.  The decorations will be limited, so that parents and scouts can ride in the truck bed and on the trailer.  The final decorations will be put on at the BI-LO at the corner of Main Street/Hwy 417 and Route 14.  We will then drive down Main Street to position 9 at a little before 3:00.
